Buffalo.com would like to welcome
you to attend our latest
educational session,
Tell It Like It Is:
Citizen Journalism and You

on Wednesday, May 14 at 7 PM
at The Buffalo News Building,
1 News Plaza, Buffalo, NY.
Admission is free and
open to the public.

Tell It Like It Is will discuss
the impact and importance of
citizen journalism in the
face of a media world
that is changing and evolving
at a tremendous rate.

We hope to show firsthand the
ways in which members of the
community can use the web
as a powerful tool to report
information from their own lives
and their own communities
while offering opinions and analysis,
sharing images and video, and
offering information
unavailable from
other sources.

Guest speakers will include:

Melinda Miller, web administrator,

Gregory Lewis, Niagara County
Administrator & YourHub blogger;

Writers Wanted!

Buffalo.com is seeking college
students or recent college
graduates to participate in its
YourHub internship project.
Interns will work under the
supervision of Buffalo.com online
interactive managers and will
write community-based stories
on a wide variety of topics,
take photographs at events
throughout Western New York,
and learn more about the fields
of online media, community
relations and citizen journalism.
The internship will last
approximately four months and
will begin as soon as the student
is accepted into the program.

Qualifications

All college students, recent college graduates, and adults interested in
writing about the community are
welcome to participate.
Individuals studying communication,
public relations, journalism,
English, media studies
or other related fields
are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be willing to
write a minimum of two or more
news-style stories each month. Prior
experience is not necessary.
Serious applicants only. This
is an unpaid internship.
