Nearly 100 members of the Niagara University community participated in the 5th annual "Day of Service" on June 19. Some volunteers helped weed near street side trees in Niagara Falls as well as paint at the Aquarium of Niagara, while others tutored youngsters, helped out at area food pantries, or visited with the elderly in an adult activities program.
NU assisted organizations like Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, the Health Association of Niagara County, Inc. (HANCI), the YMCA of Niagara Falls, and the Lewiston Public Library.
Learn and Serve Niagara, which helps NU students focus on service learning, coordinated the Day of Service.
