ReNU Niagara, Niagara University's Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC), will hold a kick-off event for its volunteer center on Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1816 Main St., Niagara Falls. Refreshments will be served.
The COPC Volunteer Center will help match the interests of volunteers with the needs of agencies, according to Jill Shuey, executive director of ReNU Niagara COPC.
Volunteers will be able to stop at the COPC office or log onto
http://www.niagara.edu/copc/volunteer.htm to view available opportunities. The center's goal is to strengthen relationships and increase linkages between not-for-profit organizations and existing and potential volunteers.
ReNU Niagara COPC is a federally funded grant initiative from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of University Partnerships.
