Galeb Rizek is the present owner and manager and recalls working on weekends as a kid. He always thought of himself as the "ideas guy" as even then, he could see a lot of investment potential. "It is important to have something to be proud of" in his philosophy and he believes the outside should reflect the inside. Landscaping is an important part of the plans and in the spring, more than fifty yards of mulch is needed to being the flower beds and planters into bloom.
The courtyard includes both a garden pond and swimming pool as well as a family oriented playground. A second floor addition updated the facade a few years ago. Special Senior Rooms also include large button remotes & telephones, in-room coffee maker, bathtub rail, iron/board, microwave & refrigerator.

The Econo Lodge at the Falls offers an attractive environment with clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient Lodging at an affordable price.Theie motto, according to the website is
"Spend a night, not a fortune".
Since the award was presented in February, it was necessary to hold the event inside the lobby area where a beautiful photograph of the courtyard hangs just inside the entrance. (see photos) . There were several guests registered even during the "off season" winter weather.
As President of the Niagara Falls Boulevard Business Association, Mr. Rizek works hard to make the "hotel strip" a clean and neat gateway to Niagara Falls. His staff is trained to direct guests to area restaurants, shopping sightseeing destinations and area events.
The "spotlight" will be displayed in the window during the month of February 2008 in appreciation for helping to keep Niagara Falls beautiful.
On hand for the presentation to Galeb Rizek were City Councilman Christopher Robins, who brought his two young boys with him, Marge Gillies, NBC Chair and member Patsy MacKenna. Also on hand were Trudy Christman and Debbie MacKay the current SPOTLIGHT Committee Members and yours truly who was the photographer. Peggy Addoms, the third Committee member, arrived just minutes after the photos were taken. This presentation marks the final selection for the current three member award selection committee.
