The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University will hold its Fifth Annual gala, "Homegrown Elegance," on Saturday, October 13, 2007. The theme of this year's gala celebrates homegrown treasures in the form of art, music and the natural bounty of our Niagara region. Sally and Craig Avery, whose children have attended the museum "kids 'n arts" summer camp, are serving as this year's honorary chairs.

The gala is the museum's main fundraising event, and proceeds support the museum's educational programs with Niagara University students, area schools and the surrounding community.

The event will feature silent and live art auctions, with pieces donated by regional and nationally-known artists. The live auction will include works by Pablo Picasso, Wolf Kahn, Milton Rogovin, John Pfahl, Paul Warhola, Barbara Rowe, Arnold Mesches, Bruce Lowery and Peter Max.

Gala attendees will enjoy music the during the cocktail hour, while they peruse the silent auction. A delectable dinner will follow, culminating in the exciting live auction. The gala committee is planning a feast for the eyes as well, transforming the Main Gallery with glorious autumnal colors.

Tickets are $100 per person, or $125 patron, (names listed in program). With only 200 tickets available for this "creative black tie" event, you will want to make your reservations early.
