My Aunt Margaret loved chocolate. She has since she was young. She lived in Erie, Penn. I didn't see her only in the summer. But from the stories the family tell she was a 'corker!'
One time she and her husband and girls were out riding; she was in the back of the car. They would say to her, "What are you doing?" Of course she had this box of candy and was eating away. She would tell the girls that candy wasn't good for them. Another time there was a funeral so everyone was at our house. So naturally there was food brought in. My cousin Nancy caught Margaret in the kitchen eating something. She asked, "What are you eating, Aunt Margaret?" She turned and said, "Nancy, this is a piece of 'shif.'" So Nancy came in and told everyone, "Aunt Margaret is eating shif in the kitchen!" One year later, we were still laughing about that.
She was eventually put in a nursing home. Her family constantly visiting her. To this day they do not know how she got the candy box under her pillow. They found it when she passed away. I hope she is getting a lot of candy in heaven.
