The St. Francis High School Red Raiders will play their home opener this Friday @ 7pm against St. Ignatius High School of Cleveland. Both teams suffered their first losses of the season this past weekend.
The Red Raiders lost to Aquinas of Rochester on Friday September 14
th with a final score of 13- 7. The Red Raiders were scoreless until the last 5 minutes of the game when Delano Fabor ran for a touchdown. Unfortunately time ran out before the Red Raiders could put anymore points on the board. Before playing Friday night Aquinas was ranked fifth in the state class A, while the Red Raiders were ranked sixth in AA.
Friday's match up is the start of four straight home games for the Red Raiders. The season opener against North Tonawanda High School saw the Red Raiders come out on top with a score of 45-13. Holy Trinity of Long Island played host to St. Francis the following weekend and once again the Red Raiders were victorious, 26-14.
St Ignatius is 3-1 so far this season posting big wins against their first three opponents. They beat Boardman (near Youngstown Ohio) 36-7 in their season opener, JFK of Cleveland 36-6 and trampled Canisius 64-0.
