This blog will pass along information on the Town of Hamburg, offer news, events and views of what is going on. This is meant to give the residents of the town an opportunity to be more informed and ultimately allow you to become more involved in your town government.

Town/Village Merger

Last year the town began to work with the villages of Blasdell and Hamburg to merge our respective building inspection departments into one town-wide department. The proposed merger had been approved unanimously by the town board and both village boards. Yesterday, we took a big step forward in completing the merger as the state legislation to allow the merger passed in the NYS Assembly. The NYS Senate passed the resolution last week. Now it goes on to the Governor for signature.

This is your government working together at all levels to improve services while reducing costs to you the taxpayer. Special thanks go out to Senator Stachowski, Assemblyman Quinn, Mayor Jewett and Mayor Moses for all their hard work and assistance.
