Notes on the Nation:
Recap:
Although there were a few shakeups in the Top 25, there weren't too many upsets like the previous week.
The Big East looks like a mess with Pittsburgh beating South Florida this week. Give major credit to running back LeSean McCoy as he is carrying that team on his back. I had basically written off the Panthers in the beginning of the year after losing to Bowling Green but they have a very good chance of winning the conference. I still think Wannstedt is overrated, though.
Speaking of marginal conferences, that's what we can call the Pac-10 as well, especially if Arizona has a shot of winning that crown. I'm not sure what to think about the ACC anymore. Are they a good, deep conference or are they just as mediocre as the previous two I've mentioned? I ask this after Maryland (who I thought could be in the running for the ACC title game) got absolutely annihilated by a woeful Virginia team.
Count me as the newest member of the Vandy bandwagon with its win over Auburn. Now if Texas Tech and Michigan State would actually play good teams I would throw them in my Top 25, too.

Looking Ahead:
All eyes will be on the Red River Shootout on Saturday when Oklahoma battles Texas in a match-up between two Top 5 teams. These games have almost always been pretty close, as emotions are always high. These contests are either shootouts or defensive battles. I'm saying it will be the former this season.
Oklahoma State versus Missouri is also an intriguing match-up. I think the Cowboys are a bit overrated going into the game being ranked within the Top 20 by some (even though they have a defensive tackle named Shane Jarka), but this could provide an opportunity to be a statement game for the Tigers.
LSU and Florida sounds like its going to be a nasty game, even more so than the Red River Shootout, after all the trash talk this week. I hope the Gators have a life insurance policy out on Tebow because it sure sounds like the Tigers defensive players are going to try and take him out.
Heisman Watch:
1. Chase Daniel QB Missouri
2. Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
3. Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
4. Max Hall QB BYU
5. Javon Ringer RB Michigan State
The Bull Breaker:
Recap:
An off week for the Bulls!
Looking Ahead:
Buffalo will be rested up for the Western Michigan Broncos today at UB Stadium. Unfortunately, I will be missing the game and be forced to listen to it on the radio again.
WMU has only one loss on the season, to Nebraska. However, its wins are against MAC bottom feeders Northern Illinois and Ohio, a 7-3 squeaker over Ohio, and victories over perennially weakling Idaho and FCS school Tennessee Tech. Buffalo will be the toughest team the Broncos have faced since their lost to the Cornhuskers.
Gill will have his team prepared and pissed off after a close loss two weeks ago. I see a Buffalo win on the horizon as they should be hungrier, healthier and at home.
