Local Church and Business Step Up to the Plate

A once unused walk-in-closet in the dormitory of Buffalo Teen Challenge, a not-for-profit organization offering long-term care to drug addicts is under-going a transformation! Due to the generosity of Norton's Plumbing of Kenmore and the help of Jerry Steszewski, a volunteer from The Chapel at Crosspoint, Teen Challenge is building a large walk-in-shower unit that will increase bed capacity by 5!

The importance of this project may seem insignificant at first glance, but to the additional men, currently on a waiting list, who will be permitted to enter the program earlier than expected, this "small" project may mean the difference between life and death. This is a prime example of how something so small can have such a large impact on real lives!

Russ Cambria, Director and Chris Brown, Assistant Director have been trying to figure out how to expand the capacity of Buffalo Teen Challenge to ensure that the facility is available to the maximum number of individuals in addiction who are seeking help. The walk-in-shower which will add 6 additional shower heads is the answer. Currently, 20 men share 2 showers and must use them in shifts. Soon, this will be a problem of the past.

As Director, I would like to thank Ed Pytlik of Norton's Plumbing and Jerry Steszewski from The Chapel at Crosspoint for their help and for making this project real. The lives that will be saved and changed because of their efforts is priceless.
