"Takin' It To The Streets" takes place in Buffalo, New York's Martin Luther King Jr. Park on Saturday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 19th, from 11:30am - 9pm both days. Featuring health and job information, food and clothing giveaways, dancing and musical performances, activities for the kids, as well as a host of other community-enriching activities, "Takin' It To The Streets" brings Godly hope, joy, and peace to thousands of people in the city of Buffalo.
"The event was initiated almost two decades ago as I sat in Martin Luther King Park with my then young children watching a basketball game," says rally founder Anita Jones-Williams. "The park was full of people, some watching the game, some passing through, and some just idly standing by. As I sat there, I thought how wonderful it would be to have activities in the park that actually addressed the woes of neighborhoods and communities. Since the rally is held during back-to-school shopping time, there are free food and clothing giveaways. Women head-up approximately sixty percent of the families in the area, and some of these women are jobless. So we offer job information at the rally. In addition, there is a health fair offering various screenings."
"Takin' It To The Streets" founder Anita Jones-Williams is currently looking for people to take part in this summer's rally: choirs, soloists, recording artists, musicians, churches, drama teams, vendors, security, organizers, coordinators, etc. In addition to taking care of "Takin' It To The Streets," under her ministry, "God's Ministry of Deliverance," Anita Jones-Williams is also an evangelist, available to conduct seminars, revivals, conferences, and retreats.
