We Opened the Door to Safety and More
Contributed by: Paula Stuhler on 5/17/2008

Last week, the Western New York Safety Conference put on its 72nd annual event. This year's theme was "Open the Door to Safety - Labor and Management Hold the Key. The event was a huge success. Over 100 people attended the OSHA 10-Hour training for either General Industry or Construction. There were an additional 250 attendees for the two days of seminars with nationally recognized speakers and a one day safety exhibition. CEUs were also earned for those already in the professional safety field.

The WNYSC is a non-profit organization that works towards promoting Safety and Health in the community, assisting local companies with safety and training needs, and most importantly awarding scholarships for students wishing to follow the safety and health profession. The WNYSC is an OSHA Alliance Event. This year's Conference success allows the WNYSC to award more scholarship funds next year.

Thanks to all of the companies that helped sponsor and worked in conjunction with the WNYSC to make this year's Conference a success. Visit WNYSC.com to find out how to be part of next year's Conference.

This is one of the best regional safety and health conferences I have attended. I will make sure I put the 73rd annual conference date on my calendar.

Buffalo Bills' head trainer, Bud Carpenter, pulled the conference theme together with his presentation on how TEAMWORK and TRAINING saved Kevin Everett's life. Well done WESTERN NEW YORK SAFETY CONFERENCE!
