The Schofield Residence recently honored its volunteer team at their Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner. Held at the Schofield Residence Nursing Facility, 3333 Elmwood Avenue, over 60 individuals were invited to the celebration, which featured the theme "Volunteers: The Heart of the Community."
According to Mary Lou Tarquini de la Plante, assistant director of community relations & volunteer services, volunteers contributed over 5,623 hours of service to Schofield in 2007. This included volunteers in Schofield's Nursing Facility, Adult Day Health Care Program and in Schofield's home health care programs.Schofield's volunteers come from various backgrounds including homemakers, retirees, professionals and students. They contribute their time to the residents, registrants and patients served by Schofield's Nursing Home, Adult Day Health Care Program, Long Term Home Health Care Program and Schofield Home Health Care Services.
