"Summer Heat" Premier Event Offers South Beach-Flair to Benefit Carly's Club at Roswell Park
Roswell Park Cancer Institute is proud to announce a new event benefiting Carly's Club with all the excitement and party atmosphere of Miami's South Beach! "Summer Heat," presented by lead sponsor, Georgetown Capital, will be a night to remember, and takes place on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Statler Towers. All proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research and support programs for children with cancer and their families from across Western New York.
The event will be presented by The Aquamarine Group, a group of dedicated local women, who were inspired by Carly Collard-Cottone's brave quest to help children and families with cancer prior to her own death from cancer in August 2002. According to Faye Kuntar, event chair, Summer Heat was created as a way to help honor Carly's legacy-while continuing the work she began to help other children and families.
"Aquamarine represents Carly's birthstone, her favorite color, and her unique flair for style," said Kuntar. "It was in honor of Carly that we came up with the idea to create Buffalo's premier party of the season."
A private VIP party starts at 5 pm to kick off the celebration. Doors open to the public at 6 pm. Guests will enter the "South Beach" lobby of the Statler to the sounds of live music from Caribbean Extravaganza. The grand ballroom will feature unique silent and live auction items and basket raffles. Some of Buffalo's best restaurants, including Black & Blue, Fiamma Steak, Lebros Restaurant and Solé, will be showcasing their signature dishes at food stations around the room. In addition, Dessert Deli will feature a wide variety of sweets to entice all in attendance.
Guests can then move into the Terrace Room Lounge, where the party will continue with VIP cabanas and loungers surrounding the upper decks, as Jeremy Hoyle and Strictly Hip bring the party into full swing.
All décor for the event has been graciously donated by Louge22 out of New York City and is being shipped to Buffalo especially for the event. "Our goal is to create an unforgettable moment for everyone-to bring a magazine page to life as we transform the Statler for one very special and meaningful evening."
Don't miss out on this sizzling hot event! Call 716-845-4100 today to sponsor your cabana with a group of friends, couples or with your business, or to purchase individual tickets for just $125 per person, or $200 per couple. Additional sponsors and auction items are also needed. Visit www.CarlysClub.org for more information.
