PERRY’S ICE CREAM CELEBRATING 75TH ANNIVERSARY

Buffalo, N.Y. - October 26, 2007 - Perry's Ice Cream, Inc., a pride of Western New York company located in Akron, N.Y., is celebrating 75 years of making great tasting, creamy ice cream. The family owned and operated Perry's will mark its introduction into the commercial ice cream making business with the giveaway of hand-selected diamonds, brand new packaging and introduction of great new flavors.

Dishing Up Diamonds Game

Winners will receive diamond jewelry from Firth Jewelers of Niagara Falls, N.Y. Other winning prizes will include Perry's ice cream for a year and other ice cream giveaways.

"Right along with the diamond giveaway, Perry's is introducing its new two-piece packaging," said Bob Denning, president and chief executive officer. "The new package will ensure a fresh, creamy taste in every scoop, said Denning. "After 75 years we continue our tradition of making ice cream the old fashioned way - one batch at a time - added Brian Perry, executive vice president and vice chair for Perry's, just the way our founder, my great-grandfather, H. Morton Perry did when he began making ice cream for Akron High School," said Perry.

The new easy opening, two-piece rounded square shape container has a re-sealable snap-tight lid. Referred to as a sqround in the packaging industry, the new container will feature a tamper evident freshness seal to help ensure your ice cream stays fresh and creamy from the time it is opened to the last spoonful.

All of Perry's popular flavors including Piece of Cake, Panda Paws and Cookie Dough, along with the all-time favorites Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry, will be produced in the new packages and find their way into the freezer section of grocery stores this month. Perry's will debut their newest creation, Bananas Foster (premium banana ice cream with brown sugar-cinnamon-nutmeg swirls and banana toffee pieces) in the updated package.

Perry's holiday favorites, Peppermint Stick and White Christmas will also be available this season. "Our limited time holiday flavors have been a consumer favorite for many years," said Perry. There's something special about these flavors that brings back memories of holidays past and we are proud to continue the tradition into our new packaging," said Perry.

Since its humble beginning, when hand cranks and horse-drawn delivery wagons were used, Perry's has developed one of the most modern, state-of-the-art production facilities in the country to produce its great tasting ice cream. Currently, Perry's is updating its facility with an investment of nearly $4 million, representing the largest infusion of capital since Perry's move to their current location on Ice Cream Plaza in 1982.
Perry's employs more than 285 employees, and sells and distributes to Upstate New York, Western Pennsylvania, and New England.
