Berlin/Moscow (bpb) The color catalog 'From Dagestan Around the World', with the subtitle 'Return to Paradise' accompanies the exhibition of the Amherst painter Binyamin Shalumov, which is being shown during the summer 2007 in Germany. The first exhibition of the artist, who works in Moscow and in the USA, has been arranged thanks to the European Art Foundation Berlin. The works are shown at the Noervenich Castle near Cologne.
This valuable volume of photographs has been published by EPOCHA Publishing House in Moscow, and show paintings as well as the original landscapes. Among the authors belong the presidential advisor Gamzat Gamzatov (Dagestan), Manashir A. Yakubov and the President of the International Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, Edward N. Drobitsky. They are joined by Professor Amry Shikhsaidov (Institute for Archaeology and Ethnology of Dagestan), as well as the museum founder B.John Zavrel (USA), Director for International Affairs of the European Art Foundation.
