More Ways To Save At Mission Thrift Stores

On Friday, Feb. 1, the Buffalo City Mission's thrift stores will begin a "Thrifty Shopper's Bonus Card" program. The Mission is the first and only organization in Western New York to offer a bonus card program in its thrift stores.

Customers' bonus cards will be punched for each purchase of $20 or more at the Mission thrift stores. After eight verified punches, customers can redeem a fully punched "Thrifty Shopper's Bonus Card" in exchange for a $30 shopping spree to be used in its entirety, that day, in the store.

"Each dollar spent at the thrift stores helps the Mission fund the programs and services we offer," said Aubrey Calhoun, director of community relations, Buffalo City Mission. "We invite everyone to come into one of our stores to take advantage of the bonus card program."

Currently the stores offer savings coupons to senior citizens in the metro community newspapers. The "Thrifty Shopper's Bonus Card" program is an additional savings program that will encourage continued customer loyalty to the Mission's thrift stores. Customers can sign up for the cards at one of two thrift store locations at 510 Dick Road within the Dick-Urban plaza or at 2303 Union Road in West Seneca.

The Buffalo City Mission, founded in 1917, is a not-for-profit organization that provides preventative, emergency and long-term recovery services to thousands of people who are homeless or impoverished. The Mission includes: Women and Children's Shelter (Cornerstone Manor); the Men's Center; the Mission Motors Vehicle Donation Program; and two thrift store locations to better serve our community.
