BuffaloChristian.com, a brand new website offering regional Christian news, event information, articles, and forums, will make its formal debut at the 4
th annual Christian Heritage Festival at the Buffalo Christian Center, this Saturday, October 20, from 11am-4pm. The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place at the downtown Buffalo Christian Center, 512 Pearl St., and features musical performances as well as plenty of tables offering information about area churches, ministries, musicians, and more.
"For so long Buffalo has been divided in too many ways," says Mark Weber, owner of BuffaloChristian.com. "But there's a new sense of cooperation and optimism around here, even from a spiritual perspective, and my site is a natural extension of that."
Weber, who obtained his Master's degree in Journalism from Pat Robertson's Regent University, wanted to offer area evangelical Christians a place on the web where they could gather to share news, thoughts, and opinions, as well as learn about various concerts and events going on in what he deems the "Holy Arc" region.
"I have a free email list of 1,000 people in Toronto, Buffalo, and Rochester- the area I call the 'Holy Arc'- which people can sign up for at the new BuffaloChristian.com, in order to be informed of upcoming Christian concerts and events within driving distance," says Weber, who originally got involved in Christian music and event promotion as the publicist for Kingdom Bound Christian music festival, a position he still holds.
"BuffaloChristian.com was a natural extension of what I was already doing as a publicist for Kingdom Bound and several area churches like Eastern Hills Wesleyan and musicians like Tina Marie Williams," he says. "Since Buffalo lost The Word Christian newspaper and What's Up magazine a few years ago, there hasn't been a way for area evangelical Christians to know what was going on at churches other than their own, so my email list and site fill that void. I also like to publicize family-friendly events, too."
During the month of October, every post you make in the site's forums earns you a chance at winning free Christian/Gospel music CDs from BuffaloChristian.com.
"There are thousands of Christians in the Buffalo-Niagara region," says Weber. "BuffaloChristian.com is a powerful way to unite and inform them about the great things happening here."
