Matthew Good- Fan Apparition Night
Contributed by: Buffalo.com/YourHub Thomas Proctor IV on 9/2/2008

As Matthew Good leaned into the microphone, singing the beginning lyrics of one of the Vancouver's artist most famous tunes, the crowd at Club Infinity sang along, happy to hear this particular track. Until, the very moment, caught in mid-sentence, Good steps back and immediately stops. The crowd then responds with a few jeers and more laughs. A few moments later, Matthew Good continues with his song, 'Apparitions' and the band later fills in with the crowd.

Matthew Good's show on Friday Night was a testament to what he is all about. Known to be an outspoken individual and when it comes to politics, Good comes across to those as brash and abrasive. He was neither of the above, in fact, between songs, Good would engage with the crowd, often joking with them as told by Good himself, 'trying to hear what the crowd says all at the same time, but he can't really hear one person at all'.

Matthew Good eased into the concert with his first track off his latest CD, 'Hospital Music', the song entitled, 'Champions of Nothing'. With incredible ballads that voices Matthew Good's political views, this song was mellow and built into such of a rock tune, pulling the crowd into the show immediately.

Good continuedhis alternative-rock style, going from ballads like his 1999 hit, 'Strange Days' to power rock tunes, such as, 'Load Me Up'. His songs from the past were heard with great response from those who attended. During the show, requests could be heard throughout the night for Matthew Good. He was teasing the crowd a bit, playing the introductions on the guitar and suddenly halt, getting laughs out of all who were at the concert.

Matthew Good and his full band, which haven't been seen in the Buffalo area in recent times played an incredibly crisp and powerful sound throughout the evening, perfectly mixed with songs from his various albums, 'Beautiful Midnight', 'Underdogs', Good's group of musicians continued to fuel the fans requests concluding their set with arguably his most strongest sounding song, 'Weapon'.

A visibly exhausted Matthew Good exited the stage, following his band mates. Suddenly the crowd grew silent. A few moments later, a noticeable chant can be heard, with hands rhythmically clapping afterwards. A minute later, all of Club Infinity can be heard, chanting a sound bite from Matthew Good's first track off of his 'Beautiful Midnight' CD.

"K-I-C-K, A - -!!!"

"That's the way we spell success!!!"

Filtered throughout the entire venue for five-minutes. Matthew Good and his band immediately sprinted onto stage and the chant was played from Good's amplifiers, drums then soon followed and the first song, 'Giant', began the groups remarkable encore of three songs, followed by 'Hello Time Bomb' and closing with his trademark power song, 'Indestructible'.

The crowd was thoroughly satisfied and seemingly no complaints were heard throughout the night. The band's live sound was among the best heard around. The only question left is - will Matthew Good produce a live CD to compliment his career?
