Medieval Arts Classes Offered
The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum and the Society for Creative Anachronism announce a day of classes in Medieval arts as a lead in to the seventh annual Renaissance Festival. The classes will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the museum, 180 Thompson Street, North Tonawanda.
From 10:00 - 11:30 AM two classes will be presented:
Viking Wire Weaving and
Quill Making. Students in the wire weaving class will create a wire chain which can be worn as a bracelet or necklace, or even a key ring. This class is appropriate for children and adults. The quill making class is limited to adults. Participants will create a quill pen from goose feathers and learn about home made inks.
Henna Body Art will be presented from 1:00 - 2:30 PM. Students will use natural inks and authentic design patterns to decorate a hand or wrist. This class is appropriate for adults and children, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
All classes are $5. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver of responsibility. Children must also have a signed parental permission slip. Call the museum at 693-1885 to register for any of the classes.
