It's not too early to begin planning for summer. YMCA Buffalo Niagara has the cure for summer boredom - an exciting adventure at YMCA camp!
YMCA summer camp early bird registration runs January 1 - February 28, 2007 at all YMCA Buffalo Niagara locations.
Campers ages three - 15 years old participate in a variety of outdoor activities, go on field trips, make friends and have a fun-filled summer in a safe environment. Parents can reserve their child's spot in camp for only a $10 deposit per week per camper. Beginning March 1, 2007 the deposit cost will increase to $25 per week per camper.
In addition to traditional day camp, the YMCA also offers Young Explorers, Leaders in Training, Counselors in Training, teen camp, sports camp and gymnastics camp. Day camp runs June 25 - August 31, from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., which includes extended hours. All YMCA day camps offer extended hours for no additional fee.
Overnight camp opportunities are also available for youths in grades 2-11. Activities at resident
Camp Weona, in Gainesville, NY, include hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, rock climbing, outdoor education, arts and crafts and more. One-week and two-week sessions are available. Contact the Camp Weona business office at 716-565-6008 or visit www.campweona.org for more information.
Space for all camps is limited. Participants are encouraged to sign up early to avoid being closed out of the session of their choice. To help make summer camp accessible to everyone, the YMCA offers the "Earn Your Way to Camp" candy sale and financial assistance through the annual Strong Kids Campaign.
