What:	If you can read these words, you have the power to enlighten, to offer dignity, to build confidence, to make dreams come true and to create a reader. There is no better way to improve a community than by giving people the power to improve their future. Helping an adult learn to read-or learn to speak English-is a profound experience that will enrich your life, your student's life as well as the entire community. At Literacy Volunteers of America/Buffalo & Erie County we provide all the training you need to become a tutor in the Basic Reading Program, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program or Youth Mentoring Program. Once trained as a tutor, our volunteers meet individually with their adult student for two hours per week. They conduct their tutoring sessions anywhere in the community - such as a library, coffee shop or community center - at a time that is convenient for both parties.

Event Dates:	This event takes place every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7/30/2007 through 7/30/2009.
