Blog Entry 7 of 35 The Narrative Opinions of Artica Burr
I'm a Buffalo native and author of fiction. I do like to spin a yarn so -dunno, dunno, if I'll deal you fact or fiction when I blog. To be honest as a spring breeze there is always a shred of truth. Up to YOU to find it! Oh, and skip my blogs if you lack humor or varied subject matter. Like it or not I think in what some call Narrative Verse. My pen name is Artica Burr, my Buffalo born name Cheryl Hugenschmidt, my married name Cheryl Goodrich, and my educational web site is located at www.articaburr.com Now you are fair warned! From time to time I address a more serious areas of concern. Might I mention there is no way to minus rate me!

The Stanley Still Is A Steamer
Contributed by: Artica Burr   on 4/5/2008

Just for the record Artica Burr's take on the Run for the Stanley Cup 2008.
What do they say? It's 50% coaching, 50% team, 100% goalie.
The eastern playoffs are always a steamer no matter what teams play it's always great hockey.

In The Net At Playoff Time 2008

It's playoff time, the winning teams, are numbered up to eight.
To give a go for playoff time, the teams can scarcely wait.
There stands the mighty Stanley Cup, the prize that will be won.
All player's hearts in earnest, until the deed is done.

The Super Eight will filter out, 'til one team meets the West.
Unknowns and many factors, determine who's the best.
Who'll loft the mighty Stanley? Of all the powers that be?
Big factor is the goalies, or it would seem to me .....

Emery and Gerber, seem on a down hill slide
So Ottawa must overcome, to take it for full ride.
Flury and Ty Conklin, they could be tough to beat.
Pittsburgh team in front of them, sure can take the heat.

Price and Halak in the net, now there's a team to fear.
No super stars, but talent, across the board I hear.
Brodeur and Weeks are padding up to helm the Devil's stand.
Determined, holding steady, if things sway out of hand.

Martin Biron and Nitty, now there's an awesome pair.
Philly plucks a zero game, from out the thinnest air.
Thomas rallies Boston, with Ald his backup man.
Although they're solid in the net it's doubtful Bruins can.

Huet and Kolzig, Washington, will fill the goalie crease.
So far their "AO" effort, has not failed to cease.
Lundquist, backup Baliquette, in the Rangers net.
Heavy trust in Henrik, now just the score to set.

Hockey at it's finest is, sweet end of season fare.
One of eight will take it, from start to way up there.
To bring the Stanley East my friends, is all we ask these teams.
Some where where it's closer in, to fuel our Sabres dreams.
