Cranberry Blog
When I was first approached about becoming a blogger I was puzzled. Would it hurt? Does it take a huge bank roll? What exactly is a blog? I am an avid fan of all things New Englandish - so I have decided to call it my Cranberry Blog. On this blog...I will simply write from my heart...about all the things I love, the things I detest, the people that drive me nuts and the ones the give me hope. I am thrilled to live in beautiful Newstead, NY and I hope that someday I will also have a cottage by the sea...the Atlantic Sea. For now, I will tell you that my awe about Western New York spirit has increased 100-fold, since the October Storm We are a resilient bunch...and we are a people that can be counted on...for the most part. I am not a Polly Anna...but I do tend to search for the silver linings and I try to focus on those. So...when you read about something that is upsetting me...you can bet that in short time I will find the reason why this event, person or experience has enhanced my life -- no matter how miserable they or it has made me! So...come along and tell me...how do you feel about Western New York since the storm? How do you feel about the Bike Path murder investigation? Are you making sure you run/walk or jog with a partner? Tell me...what is on your mind. NancyJo

Talk about fun! I think because the weather has been so balmy, and the gas prices have sunk enough to cause some temporary gas-panic-amnesia , I have been on my annual private Christmas Light Contest runs a tad earlier than normal.
Every year I scout around and find the best displays and the worst displays of holiday lights. My friends and I have even teased that we are going to make up judges' cards to leave on mailboxes as we drive by..."You truly have the spirit!" or "This is to notify you that we have begged the electric company to shut you down!"
to "You should be flogged for putting that many gawdy lights up at once!" or "God bless you, Merry Home-Owner, let nothing you display!"
So...let's see what we can come up with this year for a favorites list! I am going to start the list with the newest addition to the Christmas decorating line-up...the snow globes. Man, they are everywhere. I noticed a few a couple of years ago...and was so charmed. Then last year they were creeping into each and every town. Now, I am seeing them on nearly every street and I love them. So far, the very best one I have seen is the "Carousel Snow Globe."
What's your favorite this season?
