Roll up and win NOTHING
Contributed by: john kenyon   on 3/28/2008

This wont be the first time I haven't won a thing from a contest. As a matter of fact, I have been loosing for over 20 years with a few exceptions in our favorite fast food drive throughs.
This week I began to think of the number of coffee's I have purchased from Tim Horton's in Western New York in the last month. I was taken back by how much coffee I have been consuming, but more so, the fact that I haven't even won a single cup of coffee. Then I couldn't help but to think my wife drinks as much as me and I always purchase her a coffee when I buy one.
I estimate that we have purchased close to 50 cups from Tim Horton's alone.
You guessed it.. No winners.
Ok, i couldn't chalk this up to bad luck without polling a few friends.
I did not conduct a formal survey of a thousand people, but I did choose to talk to three of my biggest coffee drinking friends. All three said the same thing... NADDA. Nothing. Not one anything. No wins. Sorry Play Again...
The interesting thing that was said from the third person was, he heard a rumor.
Apparently it was said that many of the cups people received looked as though the rims had been looked under before the coffee was poured.
The second part of the rumor says that Tim Horton's actually responded to this allegation by saying this was the way the cup manufacturer made the cups... ( with the winning part of the rim unrolled and rolled back up - hahahah - my words )
With more than 100 cups of coffee purchased at Tim Horton's between 5 people purchasing from three separate locations, what would the odds be?
Is it possible we all have simply been ROLLED and smoked?
I would love a second perspective on this!!
