Service - Here to Stay
Contributed by: Ann Cardena   on 11/29/2006

What is service? As a consumer, I often wonder if the word has become obsolete. I can remember years ago, when I used to go into a store, I was greeted with a friendly smile and an offer for assistance. Today, it seems as thought sales people don't even want to acknowledge your presence, let alone help you with your needs.

Through my many years in this industry, I found that offering a service which goes above and beyond has the most gratification one can experience. The countless thank you's and referrals from my clients have proven just that. Knowing that my clients value and respect my opinions as a professional make me feel like I have made a difference in their travel experience. As our world changes, and the internet and direct marketing seem to be forever present, I continue to meet and exceed my clients expectations knowing that in the long run, it is me they will come back to. Service is built into the value of the product you are buying. So if you don't have service, are you really getting the best value? It's a good question to ask yourself when an internet special hits your desktop or a low-priced flyer arrives in your mailbox.

How important is it to you that your birthday, anniversary, special needs and requests are met on each and every travel reservation you make? Are you aware that your vacation package is continually checked on a regular basis for lower rates, should they become available? what about that special going away gift I make sure you receive? All of these components add up to the service you are receiving both directly and indirectly on your reservation.

Rest assured, service will not become obsolete through me. I will be the excjeption, not the rule.

I've never booked a vacation through a travel agent. Only online. How is going to an agent different from searching online? What are the benefits?
